In their book, scheduled for release Oct. 11, the Kings share how their love of flying introduced millions of people worldwide to the joys and life-enhancing benefits of aviation.
When the Kings got married, they committed to a lifetime of mutual entrepreneurship, as equal partners in aviation and business. Their standard-setting education sessions on a then-new medium – home video – gave them the opportunity to capture audiences worldwide with a message that aviation can be at once magical in experience, but must be methodical in preparation and practice.
The Kings have been honored with the industry’s highest awards, including an induction into the National Aviation Hall of Fame. Martha King served on NBAA’s Advisory Council from 2012-2018, and the two received NBAA’s American Spirit Award in 2009 in part for Martha King’s committee testimony before congress highlighting the value of general aviation.
“John and Martha King are more than industry icons – they are the gold standard for training and safety, who have made aviation better for all of us,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “We are excited they will be sharing their amazing story with this book introduction as part of NBAA BACE.”
