FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – AirVenture, Oshkosh, Wisconsin July 23, 2026.
The availability of the Cessna Part 141 Flight Training System from Private Pilot through Multiengine Instructor means learning pilots will benefit from a cohesive, integrated curriculum throughout their training and will experience more coordinated learning.
The upcoming release in August 2026 of the “Cleared for Multiengine Flight Instructing Course” completes the set of airplane CFI courses which includes Single-Engine CFI, Instrument CFI (CFII), and now Multiengine CFI (MEI).
The new MEI course is fully integrated with the Cessna Course Tracking Application (CTA), allowing flight schools to track the learning instructor’s progress for their MEI rating right along with the rest of their training.
The MEI course covers four high-level lesson sections:
- Systems, Planning & Ground Operations
- Emergency Procedures & Multiengine Aerodynamics
- Flight Operations & Takeoff/Landing Instruction
- Maneuvers & Performance Instruction
“Flight schools now have one consistent set of curricula to take a pilot from zero time all the way to their first professional job, enabling a stint as a multiengine instructor to build that critical multiengine time,” said Barry Knuttila, CEO of King Schools. “And like the rest of our Cessna curricula, this integrated course includes lifetime access, free automatic updates, integration with King School’s excellent study apps, and flight school tracking that follows a candidate’s progress from their first lesson through their checkride. It’s everything a flight school needs to build confident, knowledgeable, and well-prepared multiengine instructors, integrated into one connected system.”
The Cleared for Multiengine Flight Instructing Course builds on King Schools’ ongoing relationship with Cessna by integrating the multiengine instructor training content into the Cessna Flight Training System and making it accessible to flight schools and their students through the King Flight School Partner Program.
Flight schools that join the partner program get discounted pricing, the ability to resell more than 115 aviation courses, and a dedicated account manager to help ensure their success. They also receive free assistance in their application for Part 141 approvals. More information about the MEI course and partnership program is available on the following web pages:
